Dropoff Delivers Airbnb’s Gifts to SXSW Renters
Being headquartered in Austin, we love this time of year. With techies, lovers of innovation, film fanatics, and music junkies all in the city at the same time, the potential to reach new and existing customers is at an all time high. But in order to cut through all the noise, businesses have to bring fresh and unique ideas to the table. Airbnb is one company doing this.
Last year, it was estimated that more than 250,000 people travelled to Austin for SXSW. That’s a lot of accommodations needed. In fact, approximately twice as many as there are actual hotel rooms in the city! The solution is Airbnb. The company gives visitors more lodging options, and allows property owners to make some extra money. From single rooms to entire houses, Airbnb offers a variety of rentals throughout the city.
For the second year in a row, Airbnb hired Dropoff to deliver surprises to guests in town for the festival. Gifts containing “Moscow Mule” kits, Airbnb branded socks, portable Anker Power Core chargers and more were delivered by Dropoff drivers to unsuspecting – and very happy – Airbnb customers.
After last year’s successful program, Airbnb’s Jesi Owens had this to say about Dropoff: “We hired Dropoff to assist with the logistics of assembling and delivering gift bags around Austin during SXSW. They were very professional and easy to work with. I absolutely recommend hiring them!” We are so happy to have had the opportunity to work with Airbnb again this year!
