Hey Rachael, what does a typical day-making deliveries for Dropoff look like for you?

I start work at 11 a.m. and deliver until 7 p.m. In the morning, I’m generally heading into the lunch and catering rush where I deliver food to hungry customers. In the afternoons I’m usually dropping off packages around the Austin area. The items that I deliver usually vary widely. Sometimes I take Sprinkles Cupcakes across town to lucky recipients, and sometimes it’s legal documents or medication.

By the end of the day, I often finish out my deliveries out of town in San Antonio, Buda, Round Rock, etc. It’s always a new experience!

What do you love most about driving for Dropoff?

What I love the most is the ability to keep physically moving throughout the day and having the freedom to be outside instead of in an office environment. I like to travel and go on road trips too, so driving is a perfect fit for me. Also, the flexibility is awesome because it caters to my schedule.

What has been your favorite delivery so far?

My favorite deliveries are floral and baked goods deliveries. They are a ton of fun because I’m typically surprising someone for a special occasion. As soon as the recipient opens the door and sees me carrying flowers or cupcakes, they are filled with joy and we both walk away happy.

Tell us a story about a delivery experience that stood out most to you.

An experience that stood out most to me happened when I first started driving for Dropoff. I picked up a catering order from Rudy’s BBQ. This wasn’t any typical order — It was a HUGE order — all packaged up in their branded corrugated boxes, specifically for food deliveries. I’ve never seen such a production before for a catering delivery!

What’s something that most people don’t know about you?

I would say most people have no idea I once went to college for fashion design.

Thank you for sharing with us, Rachael! We’re honored to have you on board.
